Phoenix Of EsteroThe applicant is requesting a minor amendment to the Master Concept plan to provide for a proposed 7.04 acre, ground-mounted solar panel field in the property’s dry detention area.

The solar field will be 6 ft. in height and enclosed with a black chain link fence surrounded by shrubs.  The panels will be fixed, provide approximately 20% of the energy required by the facility, should last approximately 30 years, and will not be visible from Three Oaks Parkway or Corkscrew Road.  FPL will inspect the field prior to operation.

Phoenix of Estero is an assisted living facility which will be located at 10251 Arcos Avenue, adjacent to the existing Estero Medical Center north of Arcos Avenue and northeast of the intersection of Corkscrew Road and Three Oaks Parkway. (Presentation)

Board Communication – Land Development Code (LDC)

The Village is working on a legal guide for the future growth and development of Estero. It will include standards to control the uses of buildings or areas of land, the rules about building size and height, setbacks from lot lines and required open space.  Once completed, it will become the Village’s first LDC.

Community Development Director Mary Gibbs gave the Board an update on what has transpired to date and stated the contractor has provided a website which will continue to provide residents with updates for upcoming meetings.  (Presentation)
