The applicant was requesting a special exception in order to add 4 pickleball courts on the south side of their existing tennis courts.  Riverwoods Plantation is a 55+ mobile home park with 640 homes located west of US 41 and north of Broadway West.

The pickleball courts will be placed on an 18-acre recreation area at their entrance where there are 4 existing tennis courts, a volleyball court, dog park and large pine trees.  There is an existing hedge along the southern portion of this recreation area.  Pickleball play will be scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. throughout the day to dusk; there will be no lighting

Public Comment: 3 residents spoke in favor and 1 resident spoke in opposition to this request.  58 eComment card were received in favor and 1 eComment card was received in opposition to this request.

The Board approved this special exemption with a number of conditions.

Arcos Executive Center

Representatives for the Arcos Executive Center were requesting a development order for a three-story building at the northeast corner of Corkscrew Road and Three Oaks Parkway in the Plaza del Sol.

The building will include two floors for post-op rehabilitation care, with the third floor providing office space.  The main building color is natural linen, base color is Malabar, and the accent trim will be Greek Villa.  The architecture and color scheme coordinates with the adjacent Houck Medical building.

The Board voted to approve a development order for the building.

Milan Villas

Milan Villas

Milan Villas was requesting a rezoning to residential from commercial with four deviations to allow for 44 single-family attached one-story units.  Each unit will have three bedrooms, two baths and two car garages with a firewall separating the units. There will be decorative fencing along the east and south side of the property.

The 10-acre property is located at the northwest corner of Three Oaks Parkway and Williams Road.

Public Comment: 1 eComment card was received in opposition to this proposal.

The Board voted to recommend Council approve this application with conditions as amended.
