Quality

Investing in quality design, services and products provides the best outcome for everyone. Estero has always planned ahead, from establishing classic building standards prior to large developments being built, to investing in preserving our waterways and park access for generations to come. Once built, the Village provides superb maintenance by prioritizing and requiring upkeep of current Village assets. The Village coordinates strong customer service by working with service delivery partners to ensure all resident interactions are helpful.

The Village of Estero is exceedingly transparent in reporting, proactive in communicating, accessible to all constituents, and open to public input at all phases of decision-making. The Village holds to high ethical standards and performance management by implementing and tracking annual service delivery goals based on quantifiable performance metrics. The Village manages debt accumulation by identifying a specific source of funding in the budget sufficient to pay all debt service and related costs.

Accountability
Community

Being a part of building and celebrating community has been a cornerstone of the Village from Day One. From sponsoring and participating in annual traditions like the Veterans Day Celebration to our collaborations with local non-profit organizations, the Village seeks to help residents engage with each other and create a distinct Estero community.

The Village of Estero was established with a commitment to “Government Lite” functionality. Operating with minimum staff, making use of technology, and outsourcing work to specialists makes it possible for the Village to continue to have the lowest tax rate in southwest Florida. It also allows for quick response to short-notice opportunities, without long-term bloat. The Village preserves operational flexibility by maintaining zero ongoing pension liabilities and a commitment to limited staffing.

Efficiency
Environment

An essential element of Estero’s uniqueness is its natural assets. The Village has prioritized protecting and enhancing resident access to our environment. The purchase of the Estero on the River and River Oaks properties, the septic to sewer project and strict development requirements demonstrate that we seek to protect our precious environment, water quality, and open space preservation

Estero has a history unique in Florida. From the early settlers and their one of kind settlements, to the governance of development before the Village was even incorporated, Estero is one of kind. The Village seeks to preserve and celebrate our special past that formed the foundation of today’s Village.
