Estero River

Vice-Mayor Errington opened the meeting describing the potential uses for the Estero on the River property.  She stated that the goals include preserving and protecting the river frontage and rare old growth forest, but may also include some limited residential and limited commercial development.  Estero residents will be included in the planning process for this property.

Errington also spoke of some of the water quality studies the Village has had conducted, as well as a program to convert septic tanks to sewer.

Also taking part in the program sponsored by the Pelican Sound Water-River Committee were FGCU’s Dr. Donald Duke and Dr. Serge Thomas; David Willems; Lee County Commissioner Kevin Ruane; Executive Director CHNEP Jennifer Hecker and WCR Chair Mark Goldstein.
