Today’s News
The Third Lee County COVID-19 Death
Lee Health is saddened to announce the third death by COVID-19 of a patient in our care. Our hearts go out to the family as they mourn the loss of their loved one.
Supplies and Homemade Masks
We are doing everything we can to conserve supplies and encourage appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including limited reuse of some types of PPE. We do not take this situation, and the guidelines for reuse lightly. But we, like health systems and hospitals across the country, are following recommendations from the CDC. We must optimize our supply and conserve as much as possible because we anticipate a time when shortages and supply chain interruptions could make it difficult for us to restock. The safety of our staff is our priority and we would not jeopardize their health and well-being.
This situation, as you know, has led us to proactively ask our community to donate what they can to help mitigate future supply shortages. We created this flyer to show the community exactly what we need. Please feel free to share on your social media platforms. Additionally, we are happy to accept donations of homemade masks.
Blood Donations
If you are interested in finding out about upcoming blood drives, or to find out if there is a blood drive near you, call the Blood Center at 343-2333.
Triage Tents Are Now Operational at Gulf Coast Medical Center
The triage and cohorting tents are now up and running at Gulf Coast Medical Center. These tents enable us to triage and cohort patients who present with respiratory symptoms. One tent is used for triage and the other serves as a waiting room for patients with respiratory symptoms, which keeps them together but separated from others without respiratory symptoms.
