As you may know, Estero residents have joined together in an effort to help keep some of our roadways free of litter, including US 41 and Estero Parkway.
Via Coconut Point is another popular road being used by walkers, runners, and bikers in addition to automobiles. As you may have noticed, this mixed traffic is contributing litter along the roadway so this is a good candidate for adoption by residents living close by.
Residents from Genova have adopted the section of Via Coconut Point between Corkscrew Road and Williams Road where Robert Girsch and Mario Restrepo recently collected 40 pounds of bagged litter plus miscellaneous car/electric scooter parts. Thanks guys.
There are three manageable sections of Via Coconut for volunteers to adopt. A few (2-4) volunteers are still needed for the section from Williams Road to Target and from Target down to Coconut Road to help make Via Coconut Point litter-free.
If you and your friends would like to join this campaign to keep Via Coconut Point free of litter, you may contact Julie Yellig, who serves as the ECCL/Adopt-a-Highway Coordinator. She will be happy to help you get started and provide a resource for supplies. She can be reached at ecclhwy41@gmail.com.
This Adopt-a-Road program is supported by the Village of Estero and Keep Lee County Beautiful.
