The Planning, Zoning & Design Board will start their meeting at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday evening, August 22. The full agenda will be available here soon. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers, Village Hall, 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle, near the entrance to the Estero Community Park. Residents may view the meeting here and provide public comment by utilizing the eComment Card on the Village website here.  Comments must be received by noon one day before the actual meeting and they will be distributed to the Council/Board but will not be read at the meeting.

Estero High School Principal Mike Amabile is reaching out to the community to help fill a number of teaching vacancies which have occurred unexpectedly within the last few weeks. The positions which are currently open are: Music Director, Math, ESE, English, Social Science, Counselor, Intervention Specialist and Spanish. Anyone with a bachelor’s degree interested in applying for one of these positions may contact Amabile. He will discuss the work involved and refer applicants to the Recruitment and Human Resources Departments to assist them in what they need to become certified.  Applicants may email him at: michaella@leeschools.net.

The meeting will start at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, with Council reviewing the agreement to transfer ownership of the T & T Water Management System to the Village.  T&T Umbrella Association, Inc., is an entity created to own and manage the stormwater storage facility located adjacent to the Hertz Arena. Council will then address an agreement to allow the Village to acquire 100% of the stormwater management facilities serving the Hertz Arena and other proximate properties, and allowing the Village to share maintenance costs with KTB.   Jacob Winge reading the Declaration Estero Historical Society President Gail Langner welcomed the crowd and started the celebration off with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Noted patriotic singer Gary Israel then led in the singing of “God Bless America.” Local historian Jacob Winge read the Declaration of Independence.  Winge was joined by two other historical enactors dressed in authentic 18th-century period costume. Residents will be able to dispose of household chemical waste safely and responsibly from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19.  Items will not be accepted either before or after that time period.
