Join local invasive species management professionals from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., Saturday, February 24, at River Oaks Preserve, to learn how to recognize and remove invasive plant material common to our area. Volunteers will be working in the beautiful scrubby flatwoods east of the north branch of the Estero River. You should bring work gloves, closed-toe shoes, pants, long-sleeved shirt as well as water, lunch/snacks, bug spray, sunscreen and your favorite weeding tool. Computers, all computer components, printers, copiers, scanners and televisions can either be disposed of in the regular garbage or brought to the Household Chemical Waste Facility, 6441 Topaz Court, Fort Myers. Council conducted a public hearing for an appeal to dismiss the development order for the Brooks Town Center apartments which was approved with conditions by the Planning, Zoning & Design Board on October 10, 2023. The applicants were also appealing the related Settlement Agreement. The proposed project is located at the northwest corner of Coconut Road and Three Oaks Parkway.
