Lee County and Florida Department of Economic Opportunity ask for help evaluating local broadband capabilities
Lee County, in cooperation with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s (FDEO) Office of Broadband, is asking residents and visitors to take a survey and an internet speed test to evaluate current broadband capabilities and determine areas in need of added service. Surveys may be taken online or in person at Lee County libraries and recreation centers during the month of July. Lee County Utilities will be temporarily converting its disinfectant process from chloramines to free chlorine residual from July 1 through July 21, 2022. Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County June 3, 2022
Corkscrew Road motorists should expect slower than usual traffic when approaching Wild Blue as work is occurring in the community’s entrance. The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting. Community Development Block Grant – Urban Cooperation Agreement FY 2023-25 The meeting started with Council approving this joint resolution with Lee County. This agreement for HUD funding includes federal entitlement funds for infrastructure, public facilities and improvements, affordable housing, and similar uses. The funds must be used in areas designated as low- and moderate-income areas, delineated by Census Tract. The Census Tract areas in Estero include an area west of US 41 and south of Broadway, and east of US 41 and south of Broadway extending to I-75. Emergency managers are predicting an active hurricane season during a time of supply chain uncertainties. Colorado State University’s team of hurricane experts is calling for 19 named storms and nine hurricanes, with four of those becoming a Category 3 or higher system. MPO Rail-Trail Feasibility Study public meeting in Estero on June 2, 2022
