Estero on the River property The 30-acre Estero on the River property south of the river will soon be rezoned to better match its intended use.  It currently is zoned “mixed use” and the Happehatchee property is zoned “agriculture”, so Council voted today to approve the initiation of a rezoning and Comprehensive Plan amendment to permanently preserve this property for parks and community facilities. Spring Run Golf Club The Board started their meeting with a public information meeting for Spring Run Golf Club which is proposing to expand their clubhouse, add an outdoor bar and dining area for casual dining, one additional bocce ball court and an improved pool deck. Approximately 500 residents turned out to help celebrate the 7th Anniversary of the Village of Estero on a sunny Saturday, March 5, 2022. Billy Dean & Dawn, Estero’s own multi-talented musical duo, provided a lively concert from the beginning to the end of the event. Below is this week’s update for the Corkscrew Road Widening project.  Crews are moving east with the force main installation. The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting: Through the week of February 28, crews will be installing utilities under Midnight Blue Boulevard (Wild Blue).  Access will be maintained.  Motorists are urged to follow signs and expect traffic pattern changes. Council started their meeting recognizing Julie Yellig, who serves as the ECCL/Adopt-a-Highway Coordinator. She has helped organize Estero volunteers join together in an effort to help keep our roadways free of litter. Over 3.8 tons of litter have been collected since the program began. Yellig also provides assistance for volunteers for the local Adopt-a-Road program which is supported by the Village of Estero and Keep Lee County Beautiful.
