Wash your car on the grass, or better yet, at a car wash. Both ways make dual use of your water through recycling and/or treatment. Keeping excess water out of our storm drains reduces flooding and keeps chemicals out of our important waterways. More tips in our flyer.

By |August 16th, 2024|Categories: News|Comments Off on Rain washes fertilizer into our waterways, feeding algae blooms.

Don't let the rain wash your fertilizer down the drain! Check the forecast and avoid fertilizing when rain is coming. Not only is it a waste of money, it overloads our waterways with nutrients that fuel algal blooms. Fertilizing in March or April, and then again in the Fall is the best way to make the most of your efforts.
