Action Items Lien Mitigation Request – Racetrac Petroleum, Inc. Council tabled for two weeks review of the lien mitigation request from Racetrac Petroleum, Inc., located at 22350 S Tamiami Trail. The station had been in violation of the Village’s signage codes by covering more than 30 percent of their windows with promotional materials; this has since been rectified. Council recommended Racetrac’s corporate offices be made aware of Estero signage regulations and to make sure any current signage issues are rectified before this lien mitigation be addressed. Corkscrew Road widening project public meeting to be held at the Estero Recreation Center February 26, 2020
The Lee County Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting for the Corkscrew Road Widening Project. The public information meeting will be held on Wednesday, 4-6 p.m. at the Estero Recreation Center. Drop in anytime to view plans. The Lee County project team will be available to answer questions and take comments about the project. The Planning & Zoning Board will conduct a public hearing for Ordinance 2020-02 Road Impact Fees at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday. Three Oaks Parkway Extension Project public meeting set for Monday, Feb. 10
The Lee County Department of Transportation (DOT) will hold a public meeting on the Three Oaks Parkway Extension Design Project from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. on Monday, February 10, at Riverside Church, 8660 Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers. The Three Oaks Parkway Extension Design Project is underway. The county divided it into two phases. Council conducted a second reading and public hearing for Ordinance 2019-29 pertaining to Estero Crossing. The applicant was requesting a rezoning from Commercial Planned Development to Mixed Use Planned Development for a 43-acre site on Corkscrew Road adjacent to the Estero Town Center (Lowe’s) plaza. The applicant has made several changes to the application, site plan and Pattern Book to address Council concerns expressed at the first reading of the zoning request on October 16, 2019. Hertz Arena sculpture, The Commons Club and Via Coconut MPD reviewed by the Design Review Board on January 22, 2020
Public Information Meeting Hertz Arena sculpture Representatives for Hertz Arena presented their plans for a 13.5-foot-tall stylized stainless-steel sculpture of an ice hockey player to be displayed on a raised pedestal 8 foot tall. The sculpture will be lighted at night. The sides of the pedestal will be used to display plaques of some of the groups associated with the arena. The sculpture is to be located at the Arena’s southeast corner in the outdoor plaza.
