Public Hearing Aldi at Estero Town Center Representatives from Aldi presented during a public hearing at the Design Review Board meeting on April 10 2019. This is a proposed 22,149 square-foot grocery store which is located east of US 41 and directly north of Walmart at Estero Parkway. The applicant noted the changes which have been made since initial meetings with the Board including extending the FDOT-approved entryway with a right in and right out, a drive aisle around the building and adding pedestrian interconnects. Shoppes at Coconut Point to come before the Planning & Zoning Board on Tuesday, April 16, 2019
The Planning & Zoning Board will conduct a public hearing for the Shoppes at Coconut Point at 5:30 p.m., April 16. The applicant is requesting an amendment to the Coconut Point MPD/DRI to allow conversion of 6,000 square feet of retail to allow for rental of the 6,000 square feet for medical office space at the Shoppes at Coconut Point. The Design Review Board will conduct a Public Hearing for Aldi at Estero Town Center at their meeting at 5:30 p.m., April 10. This is a proposed 22,149 square-foot grocery store which is located east of US 41 and directly north of Walmart at Estero Parkway. They will also conduct a Public Hearing for a 120-room hotel. Joni and Joe Pavich (far right), J. Pavich Real Estate, recently presented a check to Three Oaks Elementary School Principal Jodi Moorhead (accepting the check) as part of Estero’s Education Initiative. The money will be used to buy shirts for the 5th grade students for their graduation trip to Busch Gardens in May. The Estero Educational Initiative was established to create a partnership between the Village of Estero and the Lee County School District to help make the schools in Estero the best they can be. Lee County launches mining amendment landing page
Lee County has created a landing page devoted to providing information about the limerock mining issue and proposed changes to the Lee County Comprehensive Plan. The landing page provides an overview, an FAQ and a link to join a county mailing list for future updates. There is also a link people can click on to ask staff questions. Learn the latest about Estero’s brand efforts
Vitalink, the Village’s consultant, will present an update to Council on their brand development efforts during a workshop on Wednesday, April 3, 2019. The presentation will include artwork of potential options for Estero logos and taglines to be used throughout the Village of Estero. Community input to date has come from the branding survey and seven in-person focus group sessions with a cross section of the community. Thought you were signed up to vote by mail but didn’t receive a ballot for the recent Estero Village Council election? The reason is requests for vote-by-mail ballots expire. 10,688 Estero residents voted by mail in the November 2018 general election. The Lee County Supervisor of Elections only mailed 3,819 ballots for the March Estero election. That means almost 7,000 vote-by-mail requests had expired. Hurricane Irma reimbursement and Bonita Springs-Estero Economic Development Council among topics for the Village Council on Wednesday, April 3, 2019
Council will address a Hurricane Irma reimbursement contract at their meeting at 9:30 a.m. April 3. The Village will receive $43,699 in Federal funds and $5,867 in State funds through this agreement. Later contract amendments are expected to provide an additional $120,000 of reimbursement funding to the Village. In addition, Council will address a resolution establishing certain policies relating to municipal Code Enforcement and consider supporting the Bonita Springs-Estero Economic Development Council.
