Council conducted a public hearing for an appeal to dismiss the development order for the Brooks Town Center apartments which was approved with conditions by the Planning, Zoning & Design Board on October 10, 2023. The applicants were also appealing the related Settlement Agreement.  The proposed project is located at the northwest corner of Coconut Road and Three Oaks Parkway. Suzie Eslick touching the plaque which honors her late husband Don Eslick Many Estero residents turned out to help celebrate Lee Health at Coconut Point’s 5th anniversary on November 30. As part of their formal program, they honored Don Eslick, calling him a civic provocateur and unveiled a plaque on the wall “Dedicated in memory of ‘Mr. Estero’ whose passionate advocacy for healthcare contributed to the development of Lee Health Coconut Point.” Don was the founding Chairman of the Estero Council of Community Leaders (ECCL) in 2002, a “grass roots” community organization which addressed quality of life issues.
