Wash your car on the grass, or better yet, at a car wash. Both ways make dual use of your water through recycling and/or treatment. Keeping excess water out of our storm drains reduces flooding and keeps chemicals out of our important waterways. More tips in our flyer.

Residents are invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new, professional-level turf field at Jeff Sommer Stadium at 5 p.m. Friday, August 23. The celebration will feature music, food trucks and remarks from Village and school officials. Rain washes fertilizer into our waterways, feeding algae blooms.
Don't let the rain wash your fertilizer down the drain! Check the forecast and avoid fertilizing when rain is coming. Not only is it a waste of money, it overloads our waterways with nutrients that fuel algal blooms. Fertilizing in March or April, and then again in the Fall is the best way to make the most of your efforts. Compliance letter sent to National Flood Insurance Program policy holders
IMPORTANT UPDATE The Village is aware that National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policy holders have now received a letter from FEMA regarding their flood insurance policies. Village staff wants residents to know they are diligently working to respond to FEMA in order to avoid probation and maintain the Community Rating System (CRS) which provides residents up to a 20% discount on their flood insurance. Any change to the 20% discount will not happen during the hurricane season and will not be effective until at least April 1, 2025.
