The Village of Estero is honored to now be part of the Tree City USA community as of March 27. Tree City USA was founded in 1976 to celebrate towns and cities committed to growing their urban canopy. Led by the Arbor Day Foundation, with partners at USDA Forest Service and National Association of State Foresters, it provides the framework for communities to manage and expand their tree cover. The Board conducted six public information meetings on April 9. No voting occurs during public information meetings. Estero Family Health Center Estero Family Health Center First on the agenda was the Estero Family Health Center located east on US 41 in front of The Vines entrance. They are seeking approval of an 4,153 square foot addition to the north side of their existing building, along with parking improvements. Grant applications and construction management among topics addressed by Council on March 20, 2024
Action Items Infrastructure grant applications Council approved a contract with Hagerty Consulting, Inc., to assist the Village in preparing and submitting infrastructure grant applications. The contract amount is $203,782, with a contingency of $20,000. Lee County received HUD funds to support long-term hurricane recovery for the area, and Hagerty Consulting, Inc., would work with Village staff to get grant applications submitted to Lee County before the end of May. Donations to be accepted March 18 through April 1 Lee County Solid Waste’s seventh annual “Donated not Wasted” food rescue campaign encourages seasonal residents and visitors to donate unopened pantry items before returning north.
