The Village Council will address ordinances regarding a ban on medical marijuana dispensaries and changing the qualifications for the Design Review Board, and resolutions regarding 2018 meeting dates, approving a budget amendment and a contract for Estero Parkway master plan. There will also be workshops pertaining to the Comprehensive Plan’s conservation & coastal management element, capital improvements and intergovernmental coordination. Lee County will begin its second pass of Hurricane Irma debris removal beginning Monday, November 13. Residents are encouraged to use this coming week and next weekend to put all hurricane-related debris at the curb. The second pass will be the final opportunity for hurricane debris pickup. The second and final pass will be for both Construction & Demolition (C&D) and horticulture. Lee County anticipates the second pass to be completed during December 2017. The Estero Historical Society and Naples Therapeutic Riding Center will present a program on ‘Operation Strides’ at their meeting at 2 p.m., Monday, November 13. The Naples Therapeutic Riding Center‘s mission is to improve the lives of children and adults with special needs with therapeutic riding and other equine-related programs. Lee County land deal to add 10 acres to Estero Community Park

Lee County recently purchased 10 acres of land on Block Lane near the Estero Community Park for $700,000. The county plans to use the land to build multipurpose fields at the park which can be used by the students from Estero High School as well as Estero residents. The Lee County School District sold this property to the county to provide monies for the cost of installing a traffic light and other improvements along Imperial Parkway, where the Bonita Springs High School is being built.
