The Village of Estero is planning the future of the U.S. 41 corridor and nearby areas from Estero Parkway from the north, south to Hertz on both sides of U.S. 41.  This effort focuses on protecting natural areas, honoring Estero’s history, and ensuring high quality future development. The Lee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller is hosting a free community shredding event on Saturday, February 28, 2026 from 9 - 11 am at Estero Park and Recreation Center at 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd in Estero. Drive up and have your paper documents transported to the on-site shredding truck by a Clerk team member. No limit on the number of boxes of paper documents.  No plastic bags or electronics accepted.  No binder clips, electronics or non-paper recyclables.

Residents are invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new, professional-level turf field at Jeff Sommer Stadium at 5 p.m. Friday, August 23. The celebration will feature music, food trucks and remarks from Village and school officials.
