Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy live music performed by Ross Mead from the porch of the Planetary Court in Koreshan State Park from 7 pm to 9:30 pm, Saturday, January 11. Food will be available from Chef R71. Tickets are $10 and limited in number. The price includes entry to the park. Purchase tickets here.  The gate opens at 6:30 pm with the music beginning at 7 pm. The local US Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a course on how to safely navigate the channels and waterways inside the southwest coast of Florida along the Gulf of Mexico. This course includes a satellite flyover of Estero Bay and Estero River at low tide to identify sandbars, oyster bars and other hazards local boaters should watch out for. The Local Waters Knowledge course is being offered at $45 from 6 – 8 p.m., Monday, January 13, at the Flotilla 96 Station, 13531 Vanderbilt Drive.  Call (239) 594 – 8009 to register for this class.

Lee County Board of County Commissioners Summer of Safety Demonstration at the park was postponed due to heavy rains.; it will be rescheduled soon.  The event will introduce Lee County’s new AED technology and will provide a demonstration at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 11. Join the Lee County Sheriff's Office for an informative "Lunch & Learn" presented by ACT (Abuse Counseling and Treatment) addressing "Sexual Violence, Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking: Detection and Resources" on Thursday, May 30, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. ACT will address these disconcerting matters, helping attendees better understand them and learn about available resources.
