Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County on December 14, 2024
Crews will be working to complete water main tie ins on Monday, December 16 at 9 a.m. near Corkscrew Shores. Water service will be interrupted for a short period and customers will be under a temporary boil water notice once service is restored. Those properties affected by the water shut-off (1st bullet) would have received a door-hanger notice from Lee County Utilities on Friday, December 13. Motorists should expect crews to be working on underground utilities near the intersection of Corkscrew Road and Alico Road. BERT and Estero Sports Park among topics for Council on December 18, 2024
Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday with resolutions pertaining to rescinding a future road on the Mayfair Village property on E. Broadway, and support of the planning and grant application for the Bonita Estero Rail Trail (BERT) on the Seminole Gulf Railroad, Other topics include a revision of the Corkscrew Road median landscaping and irrigation contract, a pavement striping contract, grant management services, relocation of the existing Lee County maintenance facility at Estero Community Park and design and engineering services for the Estero Sports Park. Estero Sports Park master plan on the agenda for Council on December 4, 2024
Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, with a proclamation for the late Leonard “Scotty” Wood, who had most recently served as chairman of the Planning, Zoning & Design Board. Village of Estero notified of FEMA decision to maintain Community Rating System classification and NFIP policyholder discounts
Decision comes after 8 months of effort by Estero demonstrating decisions rooted in adherence to FEMA requirements and guidelines The Village of Estero was notified today, November 21, 2024, that FEMA will maintain the Village of Estero’s rating and National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) policyholder discounts following 8 months of diligent work by the Village to provide all requested and required documentation. Gulfshore Opera’s GO Divas to perform in Estero on November 5
