Today, data reported to DOH shows there has been a steady decline in the number of reported Florida resident deaths who were previously diagnosed with COVID-19. The fourth week of July compared to the fourth week of August, shows a 75 percent decrease in the average number of reported COVID-19 related deaths. Council to conduct public hearings for the 2020-2021 tentative budget and ad valorem taxes among other topics on September 9, 2020
Council will start their meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, reviewing the interlocal agreement which reimburses Estero for sheriff patrol services on the Estero River which are provided by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Other topics include a mechanism for the Village of Estero to receive reimbursement for expenditures made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, first reading of resolutions addressing the 2020-2021 tentative budget and ad valorem taxes, and a second reading of the Village of Estero special assessment ordinance. Public Hearing – Longitude Apartments 81 A representative for Longitude 81 Apartments was requesting to change the exterior building color from the approved yellow tones to a color scheme of predominately grey. These apartments are located at 11221 Everblades Parkway, west of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and north of the Miromar Outlets Mall. (updated 9/2/2020 at 9:00 pm) Florida Division of Emergency Management Issues Emergency Order to Lift Visitation Restrictions in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities and Other Long-Term Care Facilities TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, at Governor DeSantis’ direction, Florida Division of Emergency Management Director and State Coordinating Officer Jared Moskowitz issued an Emergency Order that lifts restrictions for visitation to nursing homes, assisted living facilities (ALFs), adult family-care homes, adult group homes and other long-term care facilities.
