Due to delays caused by COVID-19, the U.S. Census Bureau is still seeking applicants to work for the 2020 Census. These positions are temporary, part-time, 20-40 hours per week, and will last approximately 8-9 weeks.  The hours are flexible; you are able set your own schedule.  Lee County census takers’ pay starts at $18/hour and 58 cents/mile. By working for the Census Bureau, you have a special opportunity to help make the 2020 Census an accurate and complete count. Lee County to open more Parks & Recreation sites and amenities on May 22

The county announced today the re-opening of pools, playgrounds, pavilions, courts, multi-purpose fields (soccer/lacrosse/football), fishing piers and splash pads beginning Friday, May 22. This decision was based on the continued voluntary compliance and the community’s greater awareness for Centers for Disease Control guidelines.  Staff will be onsite to help encourage following the CDC guidelines, including social distancing.  Parks staff have placed additional signs advising of CDC guidelines at all sites.
