Community can help individuals experiencing homelessness by donating cold-weather supplies
Lee County Government and its partners are asking the community to donate cold weather supplies for Severe Weather Outreach Teams to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Blankets, gloves, scarves, hats, socks and hand-warmers can be dropped off at the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Outreach Center, 23140 Fashion Drive, Unit #111, Coconut Point Shopping Center, between January 30 and February 3. Severe Weather Outreach Teams are mobilized to specific locations when inland temperatures are projected to drop to 40 degrees or lower for an extended period of time. Koreshan Music Salon’s premiere chamber music concert set for February 12, 2023
The Koreshan Music Salon, formerly known as the Estero Concert Series, will premiere its new series of chamber music concerts at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 12, in the Koreshan State Park’s historic Art Hall. The program includes music of G. Tartini, R. Gliere, G. Faure and W. A. Mozart. Performers for these concerts are all accomplished classical musicians, several of whom are with the Naples Philharmonic Orchestra and other esteemed musical groups around the country. Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, with a short presentation by FEMA National Flood Insurance Individual Assistance Presenter Jeffery Parker. There will be a first reading of an ordinance pertaining to amending the zoning for the International Design Center to allow office uses, then Council will conduct the two workshops. You must have registered for assistance by the January 12, 2023 deadline. Even if you applied for federal disaster assistance and were originally denied, the Disaster Recovery Center may be able to offer you different options or programs that would apply to your situation. Village of Estero Hurricane Ian debris pickup ended January 20, 2023
The Village of Estero’s debris hauler, Crowder Gulf, made its final debris removal pass through the neighborhoods along Broadway Avenue West on January 20. Following that date, there are several options if any residents still require assistance removing trash or debris from their property. Normal curbside pickup if the waste material follows residential trash pickup requirements. Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) private property debris removal assistance. Adopt-A-Road volunteers help keep Estero Parkway beautiful

We also want to recognize the "PLALKERS" (Cascades residents picking up litter while walking). Total weight of litter collected this past month was 214 pounds along the 1.7 mile stretch of Estero Parkway. Their next event will be Saturday, February 11. Council conducted workshops on High 5’s unsolicited proposal and Broadway West utilities expansion project on January 18, 2023
Public Comment: A resident expressed his concerns regarding a commercial building being built in his neighborhood. Council started their meeting with a workshop regarding an unsolicited proposal from High 5, a Texas restaurant and entertainment enterprise expressing interest in some portion of the 20-acre property on the north side of Williams Road, south and west of the Estero Community Park and Estero High School.
