Below is this week’s update for the Corkscrew Road Widening project.  Crews are moving east with the force main installation. The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting: Through the week of February 28, crews will be installing utilities under Midnight Blue Boulevard (Wild Blue).  Access will be maintained.  Motorists are urged to follow signs and expect traffic pattern changes. Council started their meeting recognizing Julie Yellig, who serves as the ECCL/Adopt-a-Highway Coordinator. She has helped organize Estero volunteers join together in an effort to help keep our roadways free of litter. Over 3.8 tons of litter have been collected since the program began. Yellig also provides assistance for volunteers for the local Adopt-a-Road program which is supported by the Village of Estero and Keep Lee County Beautiful. Lee Board of County Commissioners voted today to award BSSW Architects, Inc. an architectural services contract for renovations to the South County Regional Library. The planned renovations include an automated material handler, upgraded building systems, reconfiguration of the interior to better serve the public and staff, ADA upgrades, a new roof and site improvements. BSSW Architects, Inc. will provide professional architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services. There will be multiple opportunities for public input during the 11-month design process. Lee County Parks & Recreation Summer Camp registration opens at 7 a.m. Monday, February 28. Registration is expected to draw thousands of youngsters to programs, outings and activities at the department’s traditional camps, middle school camps and specialty camps.
