The Commons Club at The Brooks
Representative for The Commons Club presented proposed plans for a 5,000 square foot addition to the existing Health and Lifestyle Center building located on Coconut Road.
They described plans for expanding their existing group fitness room, workout area and massage rooms as well as rehabbing the restrooms. They are proposing to paint the building taupe. They determined no additional parking is necessary to accommodate members. (Presentation)
Houck Medical
Representatives for Houck Medical at Plaza del Sol presented their plans for their proposed two-story 18,000 sq. ft. medical facility located at 10200 Arcos Avenue, one parcel east of Three Oaks Parkway and Corkscrew Road.
The architecture of the 35-foot tall building is described as British West Indies. It will be painted with two shades of white, with dark bronze elements and dark concrete roof tiles.
The first floor of the building could accommodate up to four tenants with the second floor dedicated to Houk Dermatology. Landscaping includes the existing oak trees, with the addition of cabbage palms, royal palms and magnolia trees.
The Board suggested the monument sign reflect some of the same architectural elements as in the building. (Presentation)
Old Estero Post Office site
The applicant is proposing to rezone and re-develop the abandoned Estero Post Office to general commercial use.
They are planning to remove the western entrance to the property while widening the eastern entrance. The building will include a tower feature, columns, decorative brackets and clay roof tiles. Their monument sign matches the theme of the building.

The Board suggested additional movement to the height of the building.
