A Central Gathering Point

The “Village Center” is one of the first areas of focus and will become an active, vibrant, urban-style downtown center for Estero. It is comprised of an Entertainment Campus, SportsPark Campus, and a significant amount of dense, vertical mixed-use development in various stages of development.

The Village Center is already home to the Village’s civic uses, Estero High School, and Estero Community Park and Recreation Center. Through a public-private approach, the “Hub”, located in the southeastern section of the Village Center, will soon include interconnected mixed-use sports and entertainment campuses. The vision for “The Hub” is to create a “park once and stay the day” environment, blending family entertainment, lifestyle, sports, and recreation opportunities for a multigenerational audience.

Community access for residents and sports tourism events are both priorities for this area.

What is the Village Center Hub?

The Village Hub is home to the Village’s civic uses: Estero High School, and Estero Community Park and Recreation Center.

Through a public-private approach, the Village Center Hub will include Estero’s SportsPark and Entertainment District that will feature recreational facilities, parks, public spaces and many more for residents and visitors to enjoy.

The Village Hub is located on the north side of Williams Road, east of Via Coconut Point and the railroad right of way.

What is the Estero SportsPark?

The Sports Park will provide opportunities for numerous sports activities including field hockey, football, softball, baseball, tennis, driving range and pickleball. A 3-acre village green will provide space to conduct special events. There will be a path around the perimeter of the lake with a boardwalk and picnic pavilions throughout the park.

The first completed project in the SportsPark was the installation of the state-of-the art turf field at Jeff Sommer Stadium in 2024.

The SportsPark is located adjacent to the Estero High School and Estero’s Entertainment District.

What is the Estero Entertainment District?

Immediately adjacent to the Sports Park is the Entertainment District where the High 5 facility will provide two floors of indoor/outdoor entertainment space. The facility will include 21 pickleball courts, 16 bowling lanes, eight duckpin lanes, a miniature golf course, axe throwing, laser tag, an arcade and dining room and bar.

High 5 is scheduled to open in the Fall of 2026.

This SportsPark and Entertainment District will serve the entire community. They are located in the Village Hub on the north side of Williams Road, east of Via Coconut Point and the railroad right of way.

About the Sports Park Campus

The SportsPark will provide opportunities for numerous sports activities including field hockey, football, softball, baseball, tennis, driving range and pickleball. The Village will activate and maintain the Sports Park Campus with priority use given to interscholastic sports use by Estero High School. This collaborative effort sets the stage for a win-win-win situation between the Village, the School District, and the community.

What has been done with the High School Ball Field?

Hellas Construction began working on the brand-new turf football field in April 2024 and completed work in August.

The new turf field features an “Ecotherm” infill product designed to reduce field temperatures. Simultaneously, several enhancement projects were completed within the stadium complex.

Ecotherm is made from recycled materials and cellulose fibers capturing ambient moisture from the air, creating an evaporative cooling effect for the turf system and temperature reductions up to 30°F. This enhancement is critical in the Southwest Florida climate.

About the Entertainment Campus

The Entertainment Campus will be comprised of multiple private family entertainment concepts that will complement the sports park and recreation areas of “The Village Hub”.

Who is High 5?

High 5 Entertainment, based in Austin Texas Provides a family entertainment concept which includes a traditional arcade, virtual reality, escape rooms, axe throwing and bowling. The brand also provides a quality scratch kitchen and bar.

High 5 has quickly expanded into Lakeway Texas and Bettendorf Iowa and is currently in development in Allen Texas, Mansfield Texas, Panama City Beach Florida and Memphis Tennessee. The Entertainment concept for the Village of Estero will feature 24 bowling lanes, 21 pickleball courts, and an 18-hole miniature golf course.
