Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County June 9, 2022
The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting. Beginning Monday, June 13, the contractor will begin underground work in the driveway of The Preserve at Corkscrew (Cypress Shadows Boulevard). Crews will first work in the entrance and the exit will be open to two-way travel. Once this work is complete, the contractor will move to work in the exit and both directions of travel will use the entrance. Work in the entrance is expected to continue for approximately one month. Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, addressing renewal of the Community Urban Block Grant agreement with Lee County, miscellaneous professional consultant services and a public hearing for an ordinance pertaining to the Reserve Policy. Council will then conduct workshops addressing redistricting, rules of procedure, Via Coconut Point landscape and Corkscrew Grove which is 6,676 acres of land located on Corkscrew Road in the eastern part of Lee County. Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County May 27, 2022
Please note, work in the driveway at The Preserve at Corkscrew has been postponed until mid-June to allow for utilities to be moved out of the area. Work in the Wild Blue driveway will continue through June. The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting. Motorists using Wild Blue Boulevard should expect crews working underground in the entrance to Wild Blue. Currently crews have the inbound driveway closed and the exit is open to two-way travel. Land purchase and Broadway Avenue utility extension among topics for Council on May 18, 2022
Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, with resolutions pertaining to paying off the debt associated with the purchase of the Estero on the River property. Other topics include the proposed pathway along the south side of Corkscrew Road and Stoneybrook, design and permitting contracts for the utility extension along Broadway Avenue, an agreement between the Greater Estero Virtual Information Center, Inc., and approving the contract to purchase the property from GESS Family Partnership + Gulf Coast Driving Range LLC. Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County
The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting: Monday, April 25 through Friday, April 29, motorists should expect signal crews working in the Ben Hill Griffin Parkway intersection. Crews will be setting signal uprights. This is scheduled to be a moving operation with intermittent closures of the westbound to northbound and southbound to westbound turn lanes. Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County
The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting: UPDATE: Due to weather and other unforeseen conditions, LARGE DELIVERY TRUCKS HEADED TO WILDCAT RUN MUST CONTINUE TO USE THE FPL EASEMENT TO ACCESS WILDCAT RUN again from Monday, April 18 through Wednesday, April 20. Passenger vehicles and small delivery trucks can use the entrance during this work. Council conducted a workshop pertaining to the Village-owned property at 8801 Corkscrew Road on April 13, 2022
Mayor Katy Errington, Councilmembers Larry Fiesel, Jim Ward, Joanne Ribble, Jim Boesch, Jim Wilson, and Village Attorney Burt Saunders visited the property and conducted a short workshop to walk the site and inspect the buildings. This five-acre property is just east of the Happehatchee Center and is part of the Estero on the River property. Council will review their recommendations for the property at an upcoming meeting.
