Estero Recreation Center to re-open October 12, 2020

Lee County announced that the Estero Recreation Center will re-open for business on Monday, October 12. Hours of operation are 7 a.m. – 9 a.m., Monday – Thursday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday. Parks staff, along with the county’s contracted janitorial services vendor, will continually clean all high use surfaces throughout the center and office during hours of operation. Signage is posted for following Centers for Disease Control guidelines and social distancing. Plexiglas shields are installed at all public service desks and hand sanitizer will be provided to the public.

Mayor Bill Ribble, Zachary Burch and Vice-Mayor Katy Errington The meeting started with an update on the I-75 construction project by Zachary Burch, Florida Department of Transportation.  He stated that the $8.6 million project is on schedule to be completed in the spring. New street lights have been installed; once they are operational, the old ones will be taken down. The on/off ramps are being extended by 1500 ft., and the dual left turn lanes on Corkscrew Road will also assist with the flow of traffic. The sidewalks are being raised and they are re-profiling the ditches, making them wider. [Read More.]
