The Village is providing an opportunity for you to provide feedback regarding your priorities for the uses on the 62-acre Estero on the River property. Brian Canin, the Village’s consultant, has conducted one public meeting with a second scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30. Canin explains that the 16 acres on the south side of the river is green with a mature forest appropriate for nature and civic uses but the north side of the river is an abandoned orange grove more appropriate for some residential and small commercial uses. Broadway. 2020-2021 Ad valorem tax Council approved the resolution adopting the final levying of ad valorem taxes for Fiscal Year 2020-2021. Lee County MPO to conduct 2045 long range transportation plan virtual public workshop at 5:30 p.m., September 24, 2020
The Lee Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) will be hosting a workshop to present information, answer questions and gather feedback as part of its 2045 long range transportation planning process. Longitude 81 Apartments and Hilton Garden Inn presented to Design Review Board on September 16, 2020
A public hearing was conducted for the Longitude 81 Apartments which was requesting to change the exterior building color from the approved yellow tones to a color scheme of predominately grey. A representative of apartments presented the Board with several different color schemes for re-painting the buildings. The Board approved the color scheme demonstrating warm grey tones with the doors reflecting the terra cotta colors on the roof. The applicant was requesting to rezone two lots on Corkscrew Road from agriculture to Estero Planned Development to allow for a variety of commercial uses in a two-story building including 8,000 square feet of office space, 1,050 square feet of restaurant, retail or café, and a 950 square feet of courtyard seating area. Proclamation Mayor Bill Ribble presents certificate to Finance Director Lisa Griggs Roberson (practicing social distancing). Council started the meeting by acknowledging that the Government Finance Officers Association presented the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award to the Village of Estero for its comprehensive financial report for the Fiscal Year ending October 1, 2019. Council will start their meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, reviewing the interlocal agreement which reimburses Estero for sheriff patrol services on the Estero River which are provided by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. Other topics include a mechanism for the Village of Estero to receive reimbursement for expenditures made in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, first reading of resolutions addressing the 2020-2021 tentative budget and ad valorem taxes, and a second reading of the Village of Estero special assessment ordinance. Public Hearing – Longitude Apartments 81 A representative for Longitude 81 Apartments was requesting to change the exterior building color from the approved yellow tones to a color scheme of predominately grey. These apartments are located at 11221 Everblades Parkway, west of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and north of the Miromar Outlets Mall.
