Public Information Meeting Coconut Trace Medical Office Center Representatives for the medical office center gave a presentation on their plans to construct a freestanding medical office building on a 1.2-acre vacant site at 22904 Lyden Drive.  This property is located across the street from Coconut Point Mall,  southwest of Autumn Leaves of Estero assisted living facility. Estero Parkway construction project now underway

Village contractor Cougar Contracting initiated work on the Estero Parkway roadway improvements project on January 6, 2020. Plans call to repave the road between U.S. 41 and Three Oaks Parkway.  Once completed, the road will include new landscaping, streetlights, 7-foot bike paths and 6-foot sidewalks on both sides of the road. A new foundation has been formed to enhance Estero’s positive growth. It’s called the Estero Forever Foundation. Lee County offers residents the opportunity to recycle their clean, live Christmas trees into useable mulch – mulch that is offered back to the community free of charge. To participate, set your clean tree at the curb on your regular yard waste collection day. All lighting, decorations, tinsel and the stand must be removed. Once collected, the trees are processed into mulch or incorporated into compost. Council started their meeting with a discussion regarding the acquisition of the 4.5-acre Happehatchee Center property located at 8791 Corkscrew Road. This property is in the center of the 62 acres the Village of Estero purchased on the northeast corner of US 41 and Corkscrew Road, extending north to the Estero United Methodist Church and east to the railroad tracks. Over $35,000 was raised during the fourth annual fundraiser for the Estero High School at the Shadow Wood Country Club on Monday, December 16, 2019. These monies will be used to enhance the culinary and arts programs at the school in the coming year. The event began with a cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres being passed throughout the crowd. On the sun-draped patio, 170 guests watched culinary students demonstrate their cooking skills and viewed various articles of student artwork, all while being entertained by chamber music performed by the students.
