Council to address the millage rate, CIP, and Estero River sedimentation contract, among other topics at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2019
Council will start the meeting with a resolution determining the proposed millage rate for fiscal year 2019-2020. The proposed millage rate is 0.7750 mills, which is equal to the prior year’s rate. The two public hearings for the millage rate will be held on September 4, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. and September 18, 2019 at 5:30 p.m. A second resolution addresses the Estero on the River property which has submerged land leased from the State of Florida’s Department of Environmental Protection. Koreshan State Park needs you
Volunteers are needed at our beautiful Koreshan State Park. There are many activities scheduled throughout the year and they can use help with everything from working at the Ranger Station collecting tolls, answering phones, renting canoes and kayaks to mowing, trail/campground trimming, and historic building/bathroom/campsite cleaning. During season (October through April), they also need assistance with parking cars. Volunteers are an invaluable resource for the Florida state parks. Estero Parkway landscape design, Florida Cancer Specialists and Pavich Center presented before the Design Review Board on June 26, 2019
Public Information Meeting Estero Parkway landscape design Ted Tryka, project manager, presented the engineering details of the Estero Parkway roadway improvements. Representatives for Bruce Howard & Assoc. gave a presentation of their landscape design and plant selection for the project which extends from US 41 to Three Oaks Parkway. They stated they have landscaped thousands of acres of communities, including Bonita Bay and The Brooks. They have identified various plant zones on Estero Parkway and are working on an integrated look along the roadway, using trees and colorful shrubs which will be trimmed occasionally but never hedged. Design Review Board to conduct public information meetings for the Estero Parkway landscape design, Florida Cancer Specialists and Pavich Center at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 26, 2019
Public information meetings will be conducted for the landscape design for Estero Parkway, the Florida Cancer Specialists’ medical office and outpatient treatment center located east of US 41 and south of Pelican Colony Blvd. and the Pavich Center located at 21256 Happy Hollow Lane and 8910 Corkscrew Road.
