Corkscrew Road Widening Update from Lee County
The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting: Beginning on Monday, March 28, crews will begin construction of the bridge/wildlife crossing between Wild Blue Boulevard and The Preserve at Corkscrew. Motorists should be aware of vehicles entering/exiting the road in this area. Crews are installing mast arms at the Ben Hill Griffin Parkway intersection. This week crews are working in the northwest corner. During daytime hours, motorists should expect one of the southbound right turn lanes from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Corkscrew Road closed, and the westbound right through lane closed. Public Meeting on Williams Road / Atlantic Gulf Boulevard Intersection Improvements
When: March 31, 2022 5:30-7:30 pm EST Where: Estero Park Recreation Center 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd. Estero, Fl 33928 The Village of Estero is currently designing improvements to Williams Road at Atlantic Gulf Boulevard directly west of US 41. The goal of this project is to provide operational and safety improvements along Williams Road and US 41, and a full median closure at Atlantic Gulf Boulevard. Please use caution on while crews work in the roadway. Estero on the River property The 30-acre Estero on the River property south of the river will soon be rezoned to better match its intended use. It currently is zoned “mixed use” and the Happehatchee property is zoned “agriculture”, so Council voted today to approve the initiation of a rezoning and Comprehensive Plan amendment to permanently preserve this property for parks and community facilities. This new zoning is specific for publicly owned property and allows for active and passive recreation, preserved lands and civic uses only. Spring Run Golf Club The Board started their meeting with a public information meeting for Spring Run Golf Club which is proposing to expand their clubhouse, add an outdoor bar and dining area for casual dining, one additional bocce ball court and an improved pool deck. They will be adding 14 – 17 new parking spaces for employee overflow parking.
