The following work activities are scheduled to occur, weather permitting:   Beginning on Monday, March 28, crews will begin construction of the bridge/wildlife crossing between Wild Blue Boulevard and The Preserve at Corkscrew.  Motorists should be aware of vehicles entering/exiting the road in this area.   Crews are installing mast arms at the Ben Hill Griffin Parkway intersection. This week crews are working in the northwest corner.  During daytime hours, motorists should expect one of the southbound right turn lanes from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Corkscrew Road closed, and the westbound right through lane closed. Estero on the River property The 30-acre Estero on the River property south of the river will soon be rezoned to better match its intended use.  It currently is zoned “mixed use” and the Happehatchee property is zoned “agriculture”, so Council voted today to approve the initiation of a rezoning and Comprehensive Plan amendment to permanently preserve this property for parks and community facilities.
