Corkscrew Pines The Board started their meeting with a public hearing with representatives of Corkscrew Pines who are requesting amendments to the zoning and master concept plan which had been formerly approved by Lee County.    This 21-acre parcel is located on Corkscrew Road at the northeast corner of the Stoneybrook community between Stoneybrook Golf Drive and Firehouse Lane and north of Pinewoods Elementary School, across from Grandezza.    The amendment would allow a gas station/convenience store to operate 24 hours a day. Council started their meeting approving a committee’s ranking for the purchase of a Community Development Software package and authorizing Village Manager Steve Sarkozy to negotiate a contract with the number 1 ranked firm CityView. A new software package is needed for the Community Development Department to enhance customer service and efficiency. The software currently in use is outdated.  The final contract and cost will be brought before Council for approval in September. The Village recently combined all the latest meeting agendas, attachments, minutes, transcripts and video into one place. The agendas have a new look with an ease of access to individual meeting topics and a button to submit an eComment. In addition, the video player has been upgraded to high definition. Council conducted a second reading/public hearing for Ordinance 2021-07 pertaining to the adoption of an amendment to the Village of Estero Comprehensive Plan to allow an elementary and middle school, as well as related facilities, on a 68.5-acre undeveloped parcel, located south of Copper Oaks, southeast of the Post Office and bounded by Three Oaks Parkway on the west and I-75 on the east.
