The Florida Department of Health and Lee County government will launch a reservation system and a new, larger site for free COVID-19 vaccinations for frontline healthcare workers and people age 65 and older. The reservation system will launch Monday and vaccinations will resume Tuesday at a single site east of Interstate 75 off of Daniels Parkway. It’s the site of the old airport terminal parking lot. The meeting started with Lee County Sherriff’s Office Community Liaison Amy Dell Aquila describing the Deputy Dog Program.  The program began with the rescue and adoption of the dog Chance who was found with his mouth taped shut.  Deputy Chance’s main initiative is to prove animal abuse is never acceptable. Solid Waste All garbage, recycling and yard waste collections in the Village of Estero that is normally picked up on Friday, will be collected on Saturday, Dec. 26, and Saturday, Jan. 2.
