School property and Land Development Code addressed by Planning & Zoning Board on October 27, 2020
The Board started with a public information meeting for the School District of Lee County. The School District will be requesting a Comprehensive Plan Amendment to develop an elementary and middle school on Three Oaks Parkway. The 68.5-acre undeveloped parcel is located south of Copper Oaks, southeast of the Post Office and bounded by Three Oaks Parkway on the west and I-75 on the east. Estero on the River presentation to be made to the Planning & Zoning Board and Design Review Board on August 27, 2020
Village consultant Canin Associates will conduct a joint workshop on the Estero on the River property for the two boards at 4 p.m. on Thursday. Canin Associates is assisting the Village with its efforts to identify ideas for use of the Estero on the River property. Purpose of this workshop is to solicit feedback from the board members. No decisions are made during workshops. There will be separate sessions in September to solicit input from the public. The Board approved the Local Ladies Social Network, Inc.’s application, with conditions, for a farmer’s market at the Miromar Outlets Mall. The market, which is currently in operation, was approved to operate one day a week on Friday, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., through September 25, 2020, in the parking lot adjacent to Ben Hill Griffin Parkway. Planning & Zoning Board conducted a Public Hearing for South Estero Commercial Center on June 16, 2020
The applicant requested adding medical office use as a permitted use to an existing ± 7,000 square foot building. They are proposing a podiatrist office in the building, which formally housed Blockbuster Video and more recently the Athenian Academy School. There will be no changes to the exterior of the building; they will just be remodeling the inside of the building.
