Alico Road scheduled for two overnight road closures from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Airport Haul Road
Southeast Lee County motorists are encouraged to seek alternate nighttime routes the first two nights in November. The Alico Road Widening Project from Ben Hill Griffin Parkway to Airport Haul Road will require the closure of Alico Road overnight while crews place drainage pipes across the road. The full roadway closure will begin at 7 p.m. and the road will reopen at 6 a.m. on the following dates, weather permitting: Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2. Council presented proclamations and addressed Estero Crossing among other items before conducting workshops on October 16, 2019
Council started the meeting bestowing proclamations upon Estero High School Football Coach Darren Nelson and MVP Mason Crowell. Coach Nelson was honored for having led the Estero High School Wildcats to a win at the First Annual “Jaws vs Claws” competition with Bonita Spring on October 4. Mason Crowell is a 3-year performer at the varsity level on the Estero Wildcats and the starting running back and kicker. Wildcat Run Country Club presented in a Design Review Board public information meeting on October 9, 2019
Representatives for Wildcat Run Country Club located on Corkscrew Road gave a presentation on their proposed expansion of the Grill Room, outdoor deck and bocce courts on October 9. They plan to enhance the existing facilities, including adding an attractive entry and dining room with outdoor bar with fire pits, umbrella tables and soft seating. Children spread kindness through Lee County library program
The Lee County Library System and Lee County Human & Veteran Services are working to help children spread kindness throughout the county. From now through Nov. 30, collection boxes will be placed at the South County Regional Library and all Lee County Library locations to gather supplies for people who are homeless. Design Review Board to conduct a public information meeting for Wildcat Run Country Club on October 9, 2019
Wildcat Run Country Club will present their plans for expansion of their Grill Room, outdoor deck and bocce courts at a public information meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, October 9. US 41 median landscape improvements are underway
Work has begun on the US 41 landscape improvements, starting at the Village’s southern boundary. The project extends from just south of Pelican Landing Blvd. to just north of the Breckenridge community. Workers are removing the existing shrubs and groundcover and replacing them with new plant materials. Please expect some turn lane and inside through lane closures during this construction period. The project is expected to be completed in approximately 5 months.
