Action Items FGCU partnership - Estero River monitoring Dr. GregTolley, Professor of Marine Science and Executive Director of Florida Gulf Coast University’s (FGCU) Water School, gave a short introduction to the work to be conducted at the new school.  He stated there will be 31 professors looking at sea level rise, climate change, hurricanes, sea grasses and much more. Public Information Meeting Estero Parkway landscape design Ted Tryka, project manager, presented the engineering details of the Estero Parkway roadway improvements. Representatives for Bruce Howard & Assoc. gave a presentation of their landscape design and plant selection for the project which extends from US 41 to Three Oaks Parkway.  They stated they have landscaped thousands of acres of communities, including Bonita Bay and The Brooks. Public information meetings will be conducted for the landscape design for Estero Parkway, the Florida Cancer Specialists’ medical office and outpatient treatment center located east of US 41 and south of Pelican Colony Blvd. and the Pavich Center located at 21256 Happy Hollow Lane and 8910 Corkscrew Road. The Planning & Zoning Board conducted a public hearing for amendments to the Comprehensive Plan pertaining to the 10-year water supply facilities work plan and wetlands at their meeting on June 28. Florida Statutes require that a regional water supply plan be conducted within 18 months following the South Florida Water Management District plan update. Representatives for Sprouts Farmers Market were requesting approval for their design for a 29,896 square-foot grocery store, associated parking infrastructure and monument sign.
