Lee County Utilities will be temporarily converting its disinfectant process from chloramines to free chlorine residual from May 1 through May 21. This is a routine measure common among water utilities that use chloramines as a primary disinfectant. Anyone who uses a kidney dialysis machine at home should contact his or her equipment supplier so the proper filtering equipment can be installed in advance. Settlement Agreement between the Village of Estero and Argo Corkscrew Crossing on the agenda for Council on Wednesday, May 1, 2019
Council will conduct a public hearing for a settlement agreement between the Village of Estero and Argo Corkscrew Crossing at their meeting at 9:30 a.m., May 1. In addition, Council will consider whether to participate in the Urban County Cooperation Agreement and to appeal the Estero Town Center (Aldi) development order. Following the meeting there will be a workshop for an update of the Estero Parkway landscape project. The Planning & Zoning Board and Design Review Board conducted a joint meeting for a presentation of the proposed Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. A consultant for the project reviewed the fact that there had been a number of ways for the community to participate in the planning process. Over 1,000 comments were made online, there were focus groups with a mix of people representing the chamber of commerce, business, the park, etc., and two public workshops were conducted. Presentation Dr. Sandra Kauanui, Florida Gulf Coast University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, announced they are conducting a fundraising effort in order to build a new Center on campus to support this important program. The Center is currently housed off-campus in the Emergent Technologies Institute. They have been given a commitment of $4 million to be matched by the community. The Shoppes at Coconut Point presented their plans to the Planning & Zoning Board on April 16. The applicant was requesting an amendment to the Coconut Point MPD/DRI to allow conversion of 6,000-square feet of retail to allow for rental of the 6,000-square feet for medical office space.
