March Election in Estero
There will be a Village-wide election for a District 4 Councilmember. All Estero registered voters will have the opportunity to vote for one of the two candidates. You do not have to live in District 4 to vote. Vote-by-mail ballots have already been sent to those residents who have registered to vote by mail. Recognition Policy Council came to a consensus to have staff come up with alternatives for recognizing not only Estero Council of Community Leaders Chairman Emeritus Don Eslick but others in the future. Bicycle/Pedestrian Master Plan public workshop to be held at 5 p.m., Monday, February 11, 2019
Do you want to learn more about the Village’s first Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan? Do you have suggestions you would like to share? Estero girls soccer team to compete in regional quarter finals on February 5, 2019
Estero Wildcats (16-4-2) will face Braden River in the first round of regional playoffs at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. They will play at Riverdale High School in Fort Myers since a new polyurethane track is going in at Estero High School which will take two weeks to install and a month to cure. The Wildcats became district champions with their 3-0 win over the Gulf Coast girls soccer team on January 29.

Council reviewed a “Recognition Policy” and the Design Review Board process in a workshop on January 30, 2019
“Recognition Policy” In the wake of the Lee County action to remove the designation for the “Don Eslick Bridge”, Council discussed setting a policy for recognizing those people who have made significant contributions to the Estero community. Council asked staff to look at how other municipalities recognize special efforts and/or contributions made by its citizens. Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Underway
Want to improve walking and biking in Estero? This is your chance. The Estero Community Input Map is the first step in a larger effort to improve walking and biking in the Village. Estero, in partnership with the Lee County MPO and Lee County, is undertaking the development of a Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. REMINDER: Council to review a “Recognition Policy” and Design Review Board process in a workshop at 9:30, Wednesday, January 30, 2019
Council will discuss establishing a Recognition Policy for special contributions made to the community as currently there is no policy in place. Council will then talk about how to fill a recent vacancy, as well as any future vacancies, on the Design Review Board. The duties of the Design Review Board include interpretation of overall design, architectural detail and landscape designs. Estero Wildcats girls soccer team set for District Semifinals on January 29
The Estero High School girls soccer team is scheduled to play the District Semifinals at their home field against the Gulf Coast soccer team at 7 p.m., Tuesday. Estero’s team won the District playoff with the South Fort Myers Wolfpack by a score of 8-0 on January 25. Fans were dressed in blue in support of the Wildcats. Come out Tuesday…wear blue…support the team.
