Estero Recreation Center to host new classes
The Estero Recreation Center has added several new classes for youth and adults, including: Youth Improv: Participants will learn the art of improv. 6-8 p.m. on Thursdays. The cost is $75 per month, per participant. This class is for youth ages eight to 18. For more information please contact the instructor, Steve Cobb at 239-494-7633. Councilmembers will conduct a second hearing for an ordinance providing for retail gas pump security measures and approve a ranking of consultants for branding and roadway monument signage at their meeting at 9:30 a.m., November 7. In addition, they will hold workshops addressing Estero Parkway roadway and sidewalks, and Estero River maintenance. Council takes another step toward acquiring land adjacent to the Estero River at their special meeting on October 31, 2018
Council adopted a new resolution approving the purchase and sale agreement with the Trust for Public Land for 62 acres of land adjacent to the Estero River at their meeting on October 31. This special meeting was conducted to waive the rules in order to reconsider the vote from the last meeting on Resolution 2018-18 and address this new resolution. Public Information Meeting Pregnancy Resource Center The applicant is requesting to rezone 5.2 acres from AG-2 to Community Facilities Planned Development at 21560 River Ranch Road, located south of Corkscrew Road and on the west side of River Ranch, adjacent to River of Life Church. Action Item Resolution No. 2018-18 – Estero River Land Purchase Council adopted this resolution with changes made to the purchase and sale agreement. The resolution authorizes the amended purchase and sale agreement with The Trust for Public Lands for 62 acres of land adjacent to the Estero River. This acquisition will require the Village to obtain financing and Staff is currently in the process of developing a Request for Proposals which will be issued to be consistent with the timing of the closing within 120 days from execution of the purchase and sale agreement. $26,000,000 has been budgeted in 2018-2019, [...]

Produced by the Village of Estero’s Community Development Department, the pamphlet lists examples of common items which require a Building or Zoning permit. Building permits are required from the Village to construct, alter, repair, move or demolish a building or structure and for a change of building occupancy. Ribbon cutting ceremony set for new Lee County water treatment plant
The public is invited to attend an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, at the Green Meadows Water Treatment Plant, a Lee Board of County Commissioners’ $75.4 million state-of-the art facility in southeast Lee County. The location is 16003 Airport Haul Road, Fort Myers, 33913. The new plant increases treatment capacity of the adjacent, former plant from 9 million gallons per day to 14 million gallons per day of potable drinking water.
