Estero High School Chef Educator Jeremy Jasper supervised as his culinary students prepared a three course tasting menu at Venue Naples for the first event of the “Stay in May Festival”. Students from Estero High, Lorenzo Walker Technical High and Gulf Coast High prepared themed meals inspired by the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. Kathy Ball presented a plaque to Tom Patricca in recognition of the Rotary Club of Estero’s purchase of trees for the park. The plaque will hang in the park’s Recreation Center. On Earth Day, April 22, 2018, Kathy Ball, Senior Supervisor, Lee County Parks and Recreation, presented a plaque to Tom Patricca, President, Rotary Club of Estero, for the club’s monetary contribution of $4,000 toward the purchase of 50 native trees for the park.  The trees were planted on March 14, 2018, and included 10 sabal palms, 26 live oaks, 10 bald cypress and 4 shady lady black [Read More.]

Proclamations Council started the meeting with a proclamation for the FGCU students who recently received the Governor’s Cup Award.  This award is sponsored by the Roundtable of Entrepreneurship Educators of Florida to advance entrepreneurship across the state.  The students were awarded the Governor’s Cup for developing “RoomDig”, an exclusive housing app for college students. Lee County Utilities will be temporarily converting its disinfectant process from chloramines to free chlorine residual from May 1 through May 29, 2018.
