Estero Wildcats girls soccer team to host 4A state semifinals on Friday
The Wildcats will host Archbishop McCarthy in the 4A state semifinals at 7 p.m. on Friday, February 16, at the Estero High School’s Jeff Sommer Stadium on Williams Road. This follows their 3-1 win over Bloomingdale on Tuesday, cheered on by the hometown crowd dressed in white to support the team. The Wildcats are now 24-2-1. Admission is $9.
Estero Wildcats soccer team to compete in Regional State Cup Finals
The Estero Wildcats win against the Baden River Pirates last week means they are now eligible to compete in the Regional State Cup Finals. The Wildcats won their last match at their competitors’ stadium with a score of 4-2. The Wildcats will host the Regional State Cup Finals against Bloomingdale from Hillsborough County at the Estero High School’s Jeff Sommer Stadium on Williams Road on Tuesday, February 13 at 7 p.m. Both teams are offensive minded, so this should be an exciting match. The Design Review Board will conduct public hearings for applications from the Estero Country Club at the Vines, Shoppes at Estero Grande and Lee Health at Coconut Point at their meeting at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 14. In addition, a Public Information Meeting will be held for Edera, located east of Via Coconut and south of Williams Road, and a Workshop for the Colonnade of Estero, on the northeast corner of Corkscrew Road and Sandy Lane. Staff Sgt. Christopher F. Lewis honored during February 7, 2018 Council meeting

February is a busy month for the Estero High School Music Program
Six Estero High School students were accepted into the University of Miami Frost School of Music Honor Band Festival. The students traveled to the university on Friday, February 2, to audition for one of three bands and learn music they had never played before to then perform in a concert on Saturday, February 3. On February 17, the Wildcat Marching Band will march in the Edison Festival of Light Grand Parade in downtown Fort Myers. District Champions Estero Wildcats soccer team has home field advantage for the regional quarterfinals on February 6
(Photo by M. Amabile) The Estero High School girls soccer team will host Venice in a regional playoff game at 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 6. The Wildcats are now District Champions following their win against Gulf Coast for the District 4A-12 soccer title on January 26. The Wildcats have a record of scoring 116 goals and letting in only 16 goals for the season. Come support the team in their quest to be State Champions at the Estero High School’s Jeff Sommer Stadium on Williams Road. Admission is $7.
Music of Haydn, Beethoven and Schubert to be the focus of the February 25 Estero Concert Series
Joseph Haydn’s Piano Trio No. 44 in E Major, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Serenade for string trio in D Major and Franz Schubert’s String Quartet No. 13 in A minor will be featured at the Estero Concert Series on Sunday, February 25 at 4:00 p.m. at the Koreshan Art Hall. Featured artists include: Bella Gutshtein on piano, Boris Sandler and Ruth Leone on violins, Eric Dochinger on cello and Suzanne Chalick on viola.
