Estero High School student Sabrina Torres wins first place in statewide competition
Estero High School Chef Educator Jeremy Jasper proudly announced that student Sabrina Torres won first place in the Edible Centerpiece competition in the recently completed Florida ProStart state culinary competition held in Orlando. Jasper noted that Torres competed and won against 40 of the top culinary programs in the state. She was awarded a $12,000 scholarship to Keiser University, along with a new knife set. Jasper noted that the Estero High School culinary team also did very well in the competition and that he is proud of all of his students. Third annual Light Up Estero
Several hundred residents and their families came out for the third annual Light Up Estero event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Estero on Saturday, December 3, 2016. Mayor Nick Batos, Vice-Mayor Howard Levitan, Councilmembers Jim Boesch, Katy Errington, Bill Ribble and Jim Wilson all took part in the ceremonies. Veterans Day ceremonies in Estero
Color guard at The Elks Councilmembers attended two different events held in Estero on Friday, November 11, 2016, to honor the brave men and women who have served in our nation’s military. District 4 Councilmember Katy Errington and District 1 Councilmember Bill Ribble attended the Veterans Day program at the Bonita Springs-Estero Elks Club. Estero’s chamber music season starting up again
The music of Haydn, Puts and Dvorak will usher in the sixth season of chamber music concerts at the Koreshan State Historic Site’s Art Hall at 4 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016. Featured artists will be the Baumer Quartet, which includes Nathan Olson and Aaron Requiro on violin and John T. Posadas and David Requiro on viola. Each of these accomplished artists tour nationally and internationally as soloists, recitalists, collaborative artists and orchestral musicians. Estero High School Culinary Program fundraiser
The first annual fundraiser for the Estero High School Culinary Program will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 19 at the Shadow Wood Country Club. Called “Evening under the Shadow Wood”, this benefit gala and silent auction will generate funds to send the high school competition team to Orlando in March to compete in the Florida ProStart state culinary competition.
