FDOT will inform the community about planned improvements to the I-75 at Corkscrew Road interchange in a Public Information Meeting at 5 p.m., Thursday, August 16 in the Village Council Chambers at 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle. During the meeting FDOT staff will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. People attending the meeting can watch a project slide show, review project displays and speak one-on-one with members of the project team. Lee County reminds us to save taxpayer dollars by recycling smart
Lee County ranks third in the state with a 74 percent recycling rate, according to data recently released by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, putting the county on track to meet the statewide 75 percent recycling goal by 2020. But achieving that goal will not be easy. In order to reach the 74 percent rate, Lee County’s recycling contractor had to pull 19.4 million pounds of trash out of the recycling carts.
