Council will start their meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, with a swearing-in ceremony for three new Councilmembers: District 1, Joann Ribble; District 2, Larry Fiesel, and District 6, Jim Ward.  This will be followed by the election of a new mayor and vice-mayor. Proclamations will then be presented for former Planning & Zoning Board and Design Review Board members. Vice-Mayor Errington opened the meeting describing the potential uses for the Estero on the River property.  She stated that the goals include preserving and protecting the river frontage and rare old growth forest, but may also include some limited residential and limited commercial development.  Estero residents will be included in the planning process for this property. Errington also spoke of some of the water quality studies the Village has had conducted, as well as a program to convert septic tanks to sewer. Estero Crossing was applying for a development order for the commercial part of their project, along with their monument signs.  The site is located on the south side of Corkscrew Road, 1,000 feet west of the intersection of Corkscrew Road and I-75. The Design Review Board conducted a public hearing for this application and approved it with a condition to add two traditional canopy trees in the buffers on the north side.
