Phoenix of Estero has requested the Board conduct a Public Information Meeting to review their request for an amendment to the Master Concept plan to show the location of proposed ground mounted solar panels. Phoenix of Estero is an assisted living facility which will be located at 10251 Arcos Avenue, adjacent to the existing Estero Medical Center north of Arcos Avenue and northeast of the intersection of Corkscrew Road and Three Oaks Parkway. Public Hearing Shoppes at Estero Grande The applicant requested the Board approve a development order for the infrastructure for Phase 2 of the Estero Grande subdivision. Estero Grande is located west of US 41 at the intersection of US 41 and Estero Parkway. The Board approved the development order for the infrastructure only. Conditions included that Phase 3, which is the 7,256 square foot restaurant building, have a separate development order to include the monument signage and lighting. The Shoppes at Estero Grande is requesting the Design Review Board to approve a development order to construct a 7,256 square foot freestanding restaurant within the Estero Grande subdivision. Estero Grande is located west of US 41 at the intersection of US 41 and Estero Parkway. In addition, a workshop will be conducted for the Primrose School of Estero located at 10350 Corkscrew Commons Drive. The applicant is proposing to develop a 12,111 square foot school on a 2.26-acre vacant parcel. Council to address tree protection ordinance, Capital Improvement Program and conduct workshop regarding the FY 2018-2019 budget on Wednesday, July 11, 2018
There will be a second reading and public hearings for an amendment to the tree protection, road and park impact fees sections of the transitional Land Development Code at the Council meeting at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 11. Other topics include resolutions honoring 50 years of home rule and appointing the voting delegate for the Village of Estero for the 2018 Florida League of Cities Annual Conference and Business Meeting. Residents invited to assist the Village in preparing its first Land Development Code (LDC)
The Village is working on a legal guide for the future growth and development of Estero. It will include standards to control the uses of buildings or areas of land, the rules about building size and height, setbacks from lot lines and required open space. Once completed, it will become the Village’s first LDC. Residents are being asked to take part in this process. Estero Historical Society’s annual July 4th celebration

Each year, the Estero Historical Society celebrates the 4th of July by bringing segments of history connected with the signing of the Declaration of Independence “to life” for all to enjoy. More than 60 Estero residents, Village Councilmembers and members of Estero Fire Rescue gathered at the Society’s cottage to hear a presentation by Mayor Boesch and join in on this year’s annual reading of the Declaration.
Residents invited to comment on proposed change to tree protection ordinance
The Village is considering an amendment to the tree protection section of the Land Development Code to require a permit for tree removal of protected trees on single family residential lots. The Village Council will hold a public hearing of this tree protection ordinance at 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, 2018, in the Village Hall Council Chambers at 9401 Corkscrew Palms Circle. Estero Historical Society Each year, the Estero Historical Society celebrates the 4th of July by bringing segments of history connected with the signing of the Declaration of Independence “to life” for all to enjoy. This year the reading will be held at 10 – 12 p.m., Wednesday, July 4 at the Cottage. Estero Fire Rescue will also be there. Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony. Design Review Board conducted a public hearing for West Bay Dog Park on June 27, 2018
The applicant is developing 6 pickle ball courts, 1 bocce ball court, a restroom facility, a dog park to accommodate large and small dogs, infrastructure and a parking area at the west side of the entrance to the community. The parking area will be grass.
