The Village of Estero will celebrate its 3rd anniversary at 6 p.m., Friday, March 16 with a free family-oriented party at the Estero Community Park. Estero High School girls soccer team playing in district championship next week

The Estero High School girls soccer team is vying for the district championship in three home games next week. The games will be played at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, January 23, 24 and 26. The team earned top seed in the district playoffs in December which allowed for all games to be played at Estero High School’s Jeff Sommer Stadium, 21900 River Ranch Road. The Big Cypress Basin is one of two major watershed basins within the South Florida Water Management District’s (SFWMD) 16-county region.  The Basin covers Collier County and a part of Lee and Monroe counties. The Big Cypress Basin operates a network of 162 miles of primary canals, 46 water control structures and four pumps to provide flood control during the wet season and to protect the water supplies and environmental resources from over drainage of fresh water during the dry season. Lee County Parks & Recreation will host a Health and Wellness Fair from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Estero Park and Recreation Center, 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd.    Vendor booths from local Lee County businesses will be set up at the park.   Enjoy music, door prizes, raffles and demonstrations throughout the day from various classes and groups at the Estero Recreation Center.
