The Estero debris drop-off site at the Estero Community Park on 21651 Via Coconut Point will close at 5 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2017. Lee County plans to close public drop off sites this month in preparation for the completion of Hurricane Irma debris collection. Residents may continue to self-haul horticulture debris to North Fort Myers, 17771 N. Tamiami Trail, and Lee County Mosquito Control District, 1840 Gunnery Road. Mary Gibbs, Community Development Director, initiated the workshop by stating the Comprehensive Plan must be transmitted to the state in early January and is expected to be adopted sometime in late March 2018. Ben Smith, LaRue Planning and Management Services, reviewed the major objectives of the Housing element which include protecting neighborhood integrity and compatibility, recognition of historic housing and sustaining the current affordable housing in Estero. Pick out your 6 foot to 11 foot Fraser Fir tree and support Estero High School athletes at the same time. The Estero High School Booster Club is holding a holiday tree fundraiser Saturday and Sunday, December 2 & 3, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the River Ranch Road entrance.  Trees will be sold on a first come, first served basis so they suggest you come early. Snacks and beverages will also be available for sale both days.  All profits will benefit the student athletes.
