The Village of Estero is preparing its first Land Development Code (LDC). The project will transform the current transitional LDC into a more user-friendly and efficient document, and establish zone districts and development standards that incorporate the community’s values for development form and quality in ways that implement and are consistent with the recently-adopted Estero Comprehensive Plan. Hertz Arena, Heartland Dental and Shoppes at University Highlands presented to the Design Review Board on September 26, 2018
A representative for the applicant presented their proposed colors for repainting the exterior surfaces of Germain Arena located at 11000 Everblades Parkway, west of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway and north of Corkscrew Road. The colors are Hertz yellow, tricorn black and extra white. They will be replacing the roof on the building to withstand a category 5 hurricane. Public Hearing Coconut Point Ford Pre-owned Vehicles monument sign The applicant presented their proposal to install one double-faced ground sign, a 3–4 foot retaining wall and modify landscape and grading at the southwest corner of US 41 and Galloway Ford Drive. The sign will be set 17 feet off the roadway, include internal LED lighting for the lettering and the paint color of the sign will mimic the existing dealership signage. The Design Review Board conducted a public hearing for the Primrose School of Estero on July 25. The applicant is proposing to develop a 12,111 square foot pre-school facility with playground on a 2.26-acre parcel located at 10350 Corkscrew Commons Drive north of the Goodwill Donation Center and adjacent to the future Marriott Springhill Suites Hotel. Public Hearing Shoppes at Estero Grande The applicant requested the Board approve a development order for the infrastructure for Phase 2 of the Estero Grande subdivision. Estero Grande is located west of US 41 at the intersection of US 41 and Estero Parkway. The Board approved the development order for the infrastructure only. The applicant is developing 6 pickle ball courts, 1 bocce ball court, a restroom facility, a dog park to accommodate large and small dogs, infrastructure and a parking area at the west side of the entrance to the community.
