The Estero Concert Series will feature Francis Poulenc’s Sonata for Oboe and Piano Op. 185, Robert Schumann’s Three Romances for Oboe and Piano, and Franz Schubert’s String Quartet No. 13 in A minor at their upcoming concert at 4 p.m., Sunday, March 13. Performing artists include: Judy Christy on oboe; Bella Gutshtein on piano; Boris Sandler, Ruth Leone on violins; Katrina Rozmus on viola, and John Marcy on cello. Gifted chamber music artists will present Franz Schubert’s spirited Piano Trio No. 2 in E-flat major and Cesar Franck’s emotional Piano Quintet in F minor at the Estero Concert Series’ performance at the Koreshan State Park at 4 p.m., Sunday, January 17. District 4 Council member Katy Errington served as a judge for the most original and creative Halloween costume contest entered by the 30 plus children in attendance. In addition, while the activities were going on, one of the employees of the park noticed a raccoon in a tree with a plastic bottle stuck on its head. Annual Koreshan State Park Halloween Fest

District 1 Council member Bill Ribble joined in on the festivities at the annual Koreshan State Park Halloween Fest by having his face painted courtesy of the Kayaking Tour volunteers. This was just one of the many activities available at the family-friendly Halloween celebration.  Park rangers were on hand to describe the history of the park and the Koreshan Settlement Plan.
